Pat Tim Sorenson and his wife, Nancy Rivenburgh own and operate Fall Line Winery in the Georgetown area of south Seattle. In a crowded field of gentlemen winemakers and blockbuster wines, their winery is a quiet success story whose humble roots trace to another humble, remarkable wine maker, Ben Smith of Cadence. Fall Line is quite new (it was bonded in 2004) and in 2006 reached its comfort level for producing quality wine (38 tons). Their wines posses all the balance, grace and depth that Walla Walla and Columbia Valley grapes are capable of. The Horse Haven blend is a classic Bordeaux blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Red fruits burst from a glass of the Horse Haven Blend. The Red Mountain Blend is another Bordeaux blend from Artz vineyard. The Red Mountain Blend has depth and power - very earthy with tobacco and truffle. Fall Line's Cabernet Sauvignon is all Columbia Valley with chocolate, blackberry and leather. Pat James and Poppy Mantone created Syncline Wine Cellars in 2001 after meeting in Oregon's Willamette Valley four years prior. Their passion for wine led them to the Columbia Gorge where their joint venture began. Currently, Syncline Wine Cellars is located along the Columbia River in southern Washington State. Their location, in the eastern Columbia River Gorge gives them a unique place for growing wine grapes - in particular French varietals. The estate vineyard, Steep Creek Ranch, is located on a southern slope on the very eastern edge of the new Columbia Gorge AVA. Directly west of the vineyard and winery is a series of 300-foot cliffs rising up into the surrounding mountains straight out of the Columbia River. Locally known as the Coyote Wall Syncline and to geologists as the Bingen Syncline, this dramatic feature gives the winery its name. It is at this point that the rainy western Columbia Gorge transitions to the semi-arid eastern Gorge. ]]> Subduction Red and White. The Red is a Cote du Rhone Syrah, Mourvedre, Grenache, and others while the White is a beutiful Viognier based blend. We also have the Cuvee Elena and McKinley Springs Syrah. The McKinley Springs is their most intense syrah. The Cuvee Elena is their first bottling of our flagship Southern Rhone inspired blend was selected from our best lots of grapes. ]]>
